Registration

The Organizing Committee for The Third International Symposium on Woody Ornamentals for the Temperate Zone invite you to participate in the symposium that will take place at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel, 1500 Washington Ave S. Minneapolis, Minnesota 55454 (directions) from August 2-5th, 2016.

Online Registration
Use the online registration when registering a single person and paying with a credit card. After registering online you will receive a “Registration Confirmation” e-mail and a “Receipt” e-mail from dorshelp@umn.edu (you may want to check your Spam folder if you don’t see these emails in your e-mail Inbox).

Student registrants will need to provide proof of active student status when they check into the registration desk.

Registration Fee Includes

Registrations fees, combined with donations from our sponsors, provide all registrants the following:

  • A copy of the symposium proceedings, which will be published as a volume in Acta Horticulturae
  • Tuesday, August 2nd afternoon welcome reception
  • Lunches on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, August 3-5th
  • Daily morning and afternoon refreshments on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
  • Travel and admission to and tour of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum on Thursday, August 4th
  • Evening Symposium Banquet at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum on Thursday August 4th
  • Travel to and tour of Bailey Nurseries, Inc., Friday, August 5th

Hotel and Lodging

The registration fee does not include hotel/lodging costs. A block of rooms has been reserved until Monday, July 11th, 2016 at the symposium venue, the Courtyard Marriott Minneapolis. The blocked room rate is $159 plus tax. We strongly encourage attendees to use these accommodations so we reach our block price quota.

We have been made aware that the U.S. Open Swimming Competition will be held on the University campus concurrent with our Symposium. This situation will make hotel space extremely difficult to find as the time draws near. We encourage you to make your reservations as soon as possible!

Refund Policy

If you need to cancel your registration, a refund, minus a $75 service fee, will be issued to you if you cancel by July 18, 2016. Cancellations occurring after this date will not be eligible for a refund. Please e-mail Maddie Grover cceconf5@umn.edu to cancel your registration, or fax a request to 612-624-5359.
